NASA iTech program looks out for top trailblazing technologies and innovation that can help enhance NASA’s missions while also improving life on Earth. Every year there are two cycles: Cycle I and Cycle II. This year Cycle II specifically called for innovative technologies in the areas of power generation and energy, integrated photonics, advanced engineered materials, and miniaturized systems. One category named
“X-factor innovations” was left open for technologies and concepts that may not fit the other prescribed categories but still sparked the agency’s curiosity.
This year the program is virtual and applications for Cycle II came around from the globe for NASA iTech & NASA chief technologists narrowed those entries to the top 10 that demonstrate the most potential to solve problems – in space and on Earth.
